In an emergency, will your staff respond?

In today's world, we call on our safety and security employees to serve in a number of roles.  One is often a first responder to emergencies affecting our business and or community.  Additionally, we expect that our employees will be available anytime we call on them.  However, when an emergency affects our business, it often affects our employees. If our employees are not confident that their families are secure, they are less likely to be there when called on.

In 2003, President Bush asked all Americans to volunteer in the service of their country.  The Citizen Corps program was created to spearheaded this effort to harness the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.  CERT was selected as one of the primary programs offered to the American public to meet this challenge.

Over the past several years, many private sector organizations have partnered with the local community to pass this education on to their employees.  This serves multiple purposes in that employees are better prepared to handle emergencies at home and therefore are more likely to be available to your organization.  In addition, the training of employees whose regular duties does not include safety and security can serve as a force multiplier for your agency.

Our speaker, David B. Morgan, CPP has more than twenty years of experience in both the public law enforcement and private security fields.  He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, holds a Masters Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is Board Certified in Security Management as a Certified Protection Professional.

Mr. Morgan will provide you with the information you need to bring the C.E.R.T. program to your organization and discuss how to rally top management support.  If you have thought about utilizing a C.E.R.T program, or have wondered how it could fit into your organization, you won't want to miss this presentation.
